Gorge Area

The Three Gorges is a picturesque mountainous area in the upper Yangtze River (in Chinese, Chang Jiang, meaning Long River). In some places, the gorge is quite narrow and the river is fast-moving and difficult to navigate. The Yangtze is a muddy brown color because of the silt it carries.
