Lesser Gorges

This smaller river is a tributory to the Yangtze, and also contains three gorge areas of sheer cliffs and river rapids. Part way up the walls on the left and running for 30 kilometers are a series of holes 2 feet deep and 3 feet apart for poles which once supported a wooden path for ancient travelers. No one knows how they were able to make the holes in sheer cliff faces hundreds of years ago.
