This
smaller river is a tributory to the Yangtze, and also contains three gorge
areas of sheer cliffs and river rapids. Part way up the walls on the left
and running for 30 kilometers are a series of holes 2 feet deep and 3
feet apart for poles which once supported a wooden path for ancient travelers.
No one knows how they were able to make the holes in sheer cliff faces
hundreds of years ago.
